Forest School @ Nancledra

We believe that to want children to look after our planet, our children need to know about our planet and love it! This is why we have a Forest School curriculum based on the Wild Passport scheme. Our trained Forest School Lead Helen Carver, leads all Forest school sessions with individual year groups.

Children progress form using simple peelers to using wood drills in our tool use programme; creating nests to building a-frames and putting up tents in our den building programme.

Each session is well-resourced so children can consolidate previous learning and be creative with the skills they have.

It also provides an opportunity to face different challenges outside of the classroom which helps develop resilience.

Finally, we believe it helps develop those all important relationships between children and develops shared memories.
